Founding the Vision Empowering Pakistani Christian Youth in Australia
In August 2020, a group of like-minded young individuals, Nelson Nawaab Liaqat
and Atif Nadeem, came together with a shared vision to support Christian youth,
particularly those of Pakistani origin in Australia. In simple words, the vision was to empower Christian youth to overcome challenges, build essential skills, and make a positive impact on society.
Creating Change Supporting Pakistani Christian Youth Through Challenges
Unified by their passion and determination, these young individuals quickly devised a
plan to establish an organisation devoted to addressing the unique challenges faced
by these Pakistani Christian youth in Australia as well as in Pakistan. Despite
perpetual challenges and setbacks, including, albeit not limited to, lack of resources, limited financial support, and personal commitments, these young individuals continued to strive towards raising awareness regarding challenges faced by the youth by organising seminars and workshops.
Growing Together Strengthening the Vision and Formalising the Mission
Slowly, as time passed, more like-minded young individuals who shared the same vision of empowering Christian youth, especially those of Pakistani origin, decided to join the group and embark upon the same journey. As such, this vision to empower Christian youth became stronger, with each individual bringing unique ideas and skills that contributed to the overall mission. Recognising the significance of formalising their efforts and creating a long-lasting impact, these young individuals decided to legalise the organisation. Thus, ensuring the organisation’s sustainability, ability to reach a wider audience, and simultaneously, make a positive impact on young people’s life.
Christian Youth Empowerment A Name Inspired by Faith and Purpose
After extensive deliberation and discussion, these young individuals decided a name for the organisation, Christian Youth Empowerment (CYE), which reflected their values and aspirations. CYE's name was chosen to resonate with both their faith and their commitment to fostering a brighter future for Christian youth not only in Australia but in Pakistan too.
